Sign dignity alone doesn't determine outcomes. A planet can be exalted but still score low Shadbala if its directional, temporal, or aspectual strength is weak — Shadbala captures this fuller picture.
Drik Bala can go negative when a planet receives more malefic aspects than benefic ones. This is expected by classical design, not an error — it means the planet is under net malefic pressure.
